Hampton Roads Rent Report - Thanksgiving Special

In October, rents rose for most unit types, with 1 bedrooms jumping from $1525 to $1564. That’s a new record high for 1 bedroom apartments in Hampton Roads.

Total average asking rent for all units: $1,812 / month

The average asking rent for each unit type:

Studio: $1,403
1 bedroom: $1,564
2 bedrooms: $1,773
3+ bedrooms: $2,270

Earlier this month, CityWork director Alex Fella spoke at the Interfaith Alliance at the Beach’s forum Moving Forward: Unlocking the Keys to Affordable Housing. He joined Jay Grant from LISC Hampton Roads, for a discussion on housing, rent, and solutions to protect affordability.
